Public Event Media Terms

Effective: Oct 9, 2026

1. What a public Heat Check is

A public Heat Check is a public forum where people openly share their perspectives, opinions, disagreements and reactions. Accepting these terms is a condition of registering for a public event. If you prefer an experience that is not publicly streamed or recorded by Heat Check, you can request a private Heat Check event instead.

2. What you agree to

By registering for a public Heat Check you agree that your name, likeness, voice, statements and interactions in the event may be:

  • visible to the other participants in the Heat Check room;
  • livestreamed publicly, when Heat Check streams that event (each event page says whether it does);
  • recorded, and made available as a full-event replay;
  • used in short editorial or promotional excerpts about Heat Check;
  • distributed through YouTube, heatchecklab.com and Heat Check’s social media channels.

These recordings and excerpts may remain publicly available after the event.

3. What these terms do not allow

  • Advertising for unrelated products or services, or presenting you as endorsing a third party.
  • Edits that misrepresent your views or what you said.
  • Selling or licensing your image or voice to others for their own purposes.

4. Your rights

These terms do not remove rights you have under applicable law, including data protection and privacy rights (for example, to ask for access to your personal data, to object, or to ask for erasure where the law provides for it). Heat Check handles such requests individually; contact Heat Check through the address given in the event emails. Some requests may not undo content that was already broadcast live or copied by others.

Inside the room, other participants are asked to respect each other; Heat Check cannot technically prevent every participant from making their own unauthorized recording.

5. Private events

Private Heat Check events are not listed publicly and are not recorded or streamed by Heat Check unless an event-specific media agreement, approved by Heat Check, says otherwise before registration. These public terms never apply to private events.
